Ah bloody hell. I'm freaking out a bit today. We've been househunting and over the weekend we found a house we really like. Now we're considering putting a bid in for it. All of a sudden it all seems a bit much, thinking about mortgages and building inspections and all of that crap. This stuff is for grown ups really and I don't feel qualified to make a decision. :?
It was fun going around noseying into other peoples houses at first...now we have found a house we're serious about buying it all of a sudden doesn't seem as fun anymore :?

I would echo the treehouse sentiments also. You should at least try and talk mrs chappo into it. Tell her it'll be like being kids again, except slightly more horrifying due to it being two grown ups living in a treehouse.
Failing that, just don't do it. The idea of a mortgage scared the arse out of me. Well, it doesn't because I doubt I'll ever do it but actually doing it would. I don't like having to commit myself to stuff like that. |

It's funny you should say that because there is an advert on TV at the moment where an estate agent is showing so people around a treehouse (it might even be a British ad cos I downloaded some from UKNova at the weekend).
Yeah I don't know. It's a real rollercoaster of emotion at the moment.
We viewed 10 houses at the weekend and one of them really shone out from the rest...there were some REAL shitholes out there I can tell you!
The one we're keen on is detached, has 4 bedrooms a 2 car garage and is about half the price of what a large semi detached would go for in the UK. When I showed my mum the house details she couldn't believe what you'd get for the money here. So......
One minute I'm keen to buy and the next I just can't be bothered. It makes sense to buy because we're pissing money away with renting and we've been renting for 4 years already. Our monthly mortgage payment would probably work out to be only slightly more than what we pay rent each month...and the house would be ours. But then there is all the added responsibilty. Bollocks!
Time to grow up basically.
