So what do you think folks?
I reckon Sven's got industrial sized balls to pick that squad. Good on him and thank fuck he doesn't bow to the press like so many weaker England managers. So there are some relatively inexperienced players in there but they will be fucking gagging to get out there and make an impression and show their tricks. It's actually quite exciting isn't it? |

| Yeah, I reckon hes gone well. He probably thinks since he knows hes off anyway, he can just stick 2 fingers up to the press. Not just as an Arsenal fan, I honestly think taking Walcott is a good idea. Chances are he won't play, but if it came down to having to use a 4th or 5th striker I reckon its worth a shot. Even if he is a bit of a raw product, hes got insane pace and massive workrate. I'm glad he left Defoe out as well, and Wright-Philips. |

Haha, as if we were going to win it if Defoe and Bent got in. |

We do have plenty of goalscorers in midfield now though...and Owen will be fit I'd expect, maybe if Sven is in such a bullish mood he might play Owen on his own up front.
For all his faults Crouch's record is pretty good with England he's set up a couple of goals along the way. He'd give some defenders something to think about that's for sure....the big lanky streak of piss. Walcott would be an unknown quantity to almost everyone, could be a good thing. He's bound to want to get out there and run his heart out.
You can't help but think there is going to be a new England hero somewhere in that squad (but i'd put money on it NOT being Owen Hargreaves). |

Haha, I can never tell if you're serious with your Jenas praise or not. He is fucking shite though, and I thought that before he moved to spurs. Hes only there because Jol tried to sign every single english midfielder! |

He was a good little player at Forest, but then again we have a shit hot youth academy. The 5 million squids we got for him probably kept us from going to the wall as well, so he'll always be fondly remembered by Forest fans.
Must be hard going from a team that played pure football to Newcastle and then Spurs though :) :? |

| I bet Walcott does brilliantly and everyone makes out they had complete faith. Owen and Rooney weren't exactly massive before there big tournaments were they? You've got to give people a chance sometimes. Ian Wright is in the Sun today slating Sven for not picking Wright-Philips... I love it! "I reckon he didn't pick him just to annoy me. I've been slating Sven in public all season and this is how he gets back at me" ... jesus Ian, you're a shit pundit whos opinions mean nothing. I liked you at Arsenal but you've turned into an absolute cunt since. Its your fault your son isn't playing, because you persuaded him to choose Chelsea over Arsenal for a bigger wage packet, so fuck off you cunt! |

Yep. A lot of the pundits are pissing me off big time. I like Ian Wright usually but like you say he's turning into a bitter bastard lately. He just doesn't like Sven because he's foreign, full stop. Same with a lot of them. They think they're talking for the majority of England fans by wanting the manager to be English but this really isn't true. They knock Sven for any decision he makes but conveniently forget that his record as manager is better than anyone elses in recent years. But then again it's not about results is it...it's about passion!
All I know is that if we do win it I'll be going mental. To be honest I'd be pretty happy with a Quarter or Semi final finish...I just love the whole atmosphere of the World Cup. I can't fucking wait ! :) |

Exactly. To be honest I'm not a fan of international football, but the buzz around the country during world cup month is amazing. The entire nation goes a bit mental. I can't really support England because I can't bring myself to cheer on people like Joe Cole, but it'd be great if they did well. Brazil are blatently going to win, and I reckon the Ivory Coast will cause a few upsets. I just like seeing Gooners doing well, and no injuries.
I get a bit annoyed by the medias insistance on an English manager. If businesses did that, it'd be considered racist or xenophobic. I couldn't give a shit where the managers from, as long as he gets result. We should've gone for Guus Hiddink. His record is amazing, I reckon. |
