has anyone seen it?
I love this film, it's Spanish subtitled in English. (the title means And Your Mother Too.)
one of the stars is Gael Garcia Bernal who's hot as hell, the woman lead is a hottie too.
And the director is Alfonso Cuaron, who directed the third Harry Potter film as well as The Little Princess.
sexy sexy movie and funny as hell, I definitely didn't watch it with my mum around she'd have beat me probably.
GUYS WATCH IT OKAY.
yeah I'm going to bed now, night. |

Yeah, it was enjoyable. I have to watch it again really because I always miss bits from subtitled films. I didn't realise until afterwards that she was leaving the doctors in that early scene. It went by unnoticed, but obviously had alot of significance right at the end. I suppose she just wanted to do what she wanted with her life as she knew the end was near, but messing 2 teenagers about was a bit harsh I thought. Did you watch it subtitled or do you understand what they say? I felt as it parts of it were lost in the translation really, for example the journey they planned seemed like a screwball road trip style idea, but I thought it was more of a spiritual thing, or at least that was the feeling I got from the way it was interspersed with the narrators commentary, the military along the road, and poorer areas being where they all of the sex/intimate moments happened.
The guy who played Tenoch was a good looking lad. The sex was great. |

I get by alright with Spanish.
I still watched it with subtitles though, Mexican Spanish is faster and more difficult for me, because I've been studying Spain's Spanish :icon_sad:
But yeah there's a few things you miss in the translation. It's not that bad though, it doesn't take away from the overall feel of the movie, which is a pretty great overall feel.
I don't think what she did was harsh, she wasn't really messing about with them. If anything they all learned a lot from each other and the trip itself, please pardon the cliche. :icon_laugh: |

Rafael Marquez has the worth of boast worlds.
I don't know, I suppose people deal with grief in different ways. If I had been diagnosed with cancer then told by my significant other I had been cheated on, I don't think I would drive off in a car with 2 impressionable young adults, even if I knew what their intentions were. I suppose she had a great time, but she was about to pop her clogs! They had to live with the aftermath of that trip, and it obviously affected them because they stopped being friends afterwards, and that kid became an Economist. I don't really know alot about Mexican culture, I suppose the idea the film was trying to convey is that their youth are quite passionate and sexually liberal. Also, how old is the woman supposed to be? I know she was quite sexy, but I thought she was in her 30's or something. |

Yeah she's in her 30s in the film.
But still! What. I don't see how what she did was a truly bad thing. She was a woman who needed to forget her past and let go because she didn't have much time left, and needed some last moments of peace.
And Bernal and Luna were two boys who needed to enjoy their last vestiges of carefree young manhood and take advantage of everything the world had to offer their innocent selves -- but they also had a lot of living and learning to do.
In the beginning of the film they were reckless and naive; They didn't even know how to properly satisfy women. Luisa taught them how to do that, and she also taught them that though it's important to enjoy what spare moments of pure contentment you can grasp at, it was just as important that they didn't piss their lives away without purpose. |

I guess, yeah. I thought the first part of the movie was quite tedious because it was just full of immature sex jokes. It made sense later on though when you realised they were just that. Immature. They probably would have grown apart anyway, as they were reaching that age. They learned alot from the trip, and the sexual tension between them was reaching boiling point anyway. Things like shagging eachothers girlfriends, and well most of their interaction was intimate. It probably would have happened sooner if it wasn't for their own machismo.
I dunno, throughout the movie I just thought she was acting pretty selfish, but it was easier to understand once you found out about her condition. It was a good way to "come of age" anyway. She looked like a great shag, right lads? |
