Ok, I know this is probably a stupid question, but...
Exactly what's the Harry Enfield, ("I don't believe you wanted to do that!"), bit all about then?
I've no idea who he is, and recognised his name 'cause, on the back cover of 'High Fidelity', there's a Harry Enfield review/quote/whatever...
Is it the same person? What's it all about? (Alfie...) |

Harry Enfield is a popular comedian from the 90's, and his self titled sketch show featured lots of characters with catchphrases. One of them was a bloke that would always state the obvious by saying "I do not believe you wanted to do that!" (in an annoying voice) and follow it with "what you wanted to do was..."
It's just one of those things people constantly quote, until there is no humour left in it at all. Exactly the sort of thing an annoying boss would do. I'm not sure why Enfield would be quoted on the back of High Fidelity though. Nick Hornby and Enfield are both Gooners though, so perhaps they are mates, and I think they're both from the Islington area. |

"Women, know your limits"
Great show, only sketch show (aside from Goodness Gracious Me and the more satirical ones) I used to actually enjoy during the 90s. I wasn't a Fast Show buff. |
