On set today, we had this scene where a lady assasin, having just killed a guy but not feeling too hot about it, goes to a mirror, aims the gun at her head and then has a change of mind and shoots the mirror.

The director wanted it perfect, and so we went through quite a few mirrors.

After five, I turned to the main actor, not in the scene, and said:

"All this mirror breaking is pretty shattering."

There was a pause and then he did that groan laugh thing.

"I'm sorry", I said

I continued "I shouldn't have said that....on reflection."

I'm fairly happy though, I tell myself.

And it is an art. Don't let any of these new "alternative" comedians tell you otherwise.
