Wow, no thread on this already.

Saw this and it is good. Not great, not consistently laugh out loud as some films can manage, but still plenty of great jokes and a plot that does seem more than the tv show could manage.

I'll be seeing it in the cinema again, what can I say. Go, go watch.

They're really hammering the publicity on this one over here. Probably because it's about 12 years too late to be doing a Simpsons movie.

Things like this are happening:

(that is in Seattle btw)

The Simpsons annoys me so I don't watch it. But when I do happen to see it by accident I quite like it. It's weird. I saw the trailer for this around the start of the year. I didn't realise that people still watched it actually and I just figured that the movie had already been released, had tanked and sank without trace...but then they started this media blitz. It's been getting good reviews. Danny Baker was gushing about it on his show.

I just don't think it will be good, the trailers look absolute awful. People who have seen it are already saying that there's loads of bits where Homer gets hurt, which is exactly what's wrong with new Simpsons. BUT HEY I HAVEN'T SEEN IT SO I CAN'T JUDGE RIGHT.

Yeah but come on. It's obvious people are gonna say "actually...it's not bad" because a) everybody was expecting it to be bad and b) everything is like 50% funnier in the cinema because other people are laughing.

I saw it in a cinema with about 12 people total, which I really didn't want to, but I guessed that I'd be seeing it again in a packed house, so why not.

If you think the simpsons has got a bit rubbish lately then you'll like this. Full of top jokes, all honed to perfection by a load of funny guys.

I went in with high expectations, and they weren't met, but it's still a good film. Probably the comedy of the summer, until Knocked Up comes out. Yeah I went there.
