Mon Aug 27, 2007 1:21 pm   Back at work.......

Fucking hell. I've just had two weeks off work spending time with my visiting parents and brother, including a trips to New York, Toronto and a family wedding which was the first time the whole family had been together for 5 years. We ate and drank a lot, stayed in lovely hotels, saw Crowded House in concert and my parents spoiled myself and Mrs Chappo rotten. In short it was two fucking fantastic weeks.

Now I'm sitting at my desk having just opened Outlook and discovering some 150 work related emails. I'm about to be pulled into a major project which will be dull and will involve long work days for the next 3 months at least. I will be summoned to a meeting in the next hour or so where the extent of the tedium and longness of the days will be fully revealed. Add to that the fact that Mrs Chappo is working her last week at her job before being laid off and I won't see my parents or brother again for at least 10 months - or longer depending on whether we can afford to go to the UK to visit next year.

Real life is depressing

let me ask you a question, how much washing up do you think you could do without any washing up liquid?

If you get the water hot enough you can do quite a bit actually. The heat kills off all the microbes y'see...and it helps dry the dishes quicker. But wear good thick gloves so you don't burn your hands. You might have to scrub a bit harder if you have no detergent because you won't have the enzymes in the liquid to help reduce the surface tension of the water and help break down all the fats and other foodstuffs. But you can get the dishes clean enough without it.

Some of my pics from last week:

No photoshoppage was used. I wouldn't know how to do that anyway! :) It was taken using a long exposure (4 secs) so thats why the reflected light shows up like that in the water. You can see a plane's light trail over the bridge too showing the exposure time.

I thought the person next to him was scratching his nose for him actually.

It's my desktop too at the moment. I'll get my "people" to look into the copyright thingy...and I'll see you in court, Sir!

at 'work' today, being a receptionist for an events management company when noones in. It's great, i'm in a building on my own eating all the fruit and cereal in the kitchen, just have to pick up the phone every now and again, and then when i do, I havent got a clue about this company so I just lie. brilliant. I'm just watching T4, looking forward to Ugly Betty. Not sure if it's appropriate to watch Jerry Springer even though i reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want to.

not to me it isn't. it is to the asbo police i'd imagine.

i have been offered a job interview today in chiswick/richmond for friday. but i don't like the idea of having to travel that far.

and a basic salary rate job working in a BT call center in old street which would begin tomorrow! so i'm gonna go for that.
