Did anyone hear this on the radio towards the end of last month?

It was a documentary and part of the 40 years of Radio One celebrations.

I heard lots of other good documentaries on the BBC in the past few weeks all to mark the 40th Anniversary. There was "4 at Forty" about Radio 4 (really good stuff) and one about Radio Two which was a really interesting hour of sound clips from 1967..music, news etc.

Being a bit of an old radio nostalgist I was looking forward to the Radio One programme.

It was shit!

What the fuck was that? How crap is Radio One now? Basically it concentrated on the past 10 years and when it did deem it necessary to play anything from "the olden days" it "remixed" it and put a stupid trip hop beat in the background...or some scratching or something. They played a 20 second clip of a Nirvana live session and even put a hip hop beat on that!

That and the fact it was presented by the rancid Jo Whiley made it painful listening.

Too much Moyles too.

I know I'm more in Radio Two's demographic but I was surprised just how bad it is now on Radio One. All it did was remind you of how good it used to be.

Does anyone actually still listen to it?

I do find Radio One a bit confusing. I mean, who exactly is their target market? It seems to play constant, faceless dance/hip hop 24/7. Does anybody actually listen to that? It's not that dance or hip hop don't have a following - of course they do - but this particular brand of it seems a bit odd.

Also, has anyone seen that advert for Jo Whiley's show on TV? She's in a pub where everybody has fallen asleep because Roy Orbison is playing, and then she storms out of the pub with a cuntish grin on her face while Snow Patrol plays. What the fuck?

I love Chris Moyles I do.. I bloody love him, he's a huge cuddly bear, I love him, he's so funny ahhhhh he's outrageous! He's says such funny stuff! I don't know how he gets away with it. He's the best DJ in the world, Chris Moyles...saviour of radio 1, Chris Moyles is my pimp, Chris Moyles for fucking Prime Minister....

...what the fuck has happened to this country? :|

Actually there was some jingle on said programme claiming that Moyles is indeed the "Saviour of Radio One". It wasn't even being sarcastic or anything...it was serious. :?
