| Just heard the Travis album from last year "The Boy With No Name"...very nice stuff. I really like Travis I've decided, although I doubt I would ever become a huge "fanboy". Unpretentious, simple and catchy songs. There is something very comforting about them like a nice cup of tea and a biscuit, or a quilt. |

That's what my brother said to me "doesn't he do show tunes?" WHA??? Ok...he did do "Rufus does Judy" :P But he's FABULOUS!!! :P He's actually composing an Opera at the moment.
Seriously, when you listen to his music - song after song is CONSISTENTLY good...I mean how many artists can you say that about??? Hardly any these days. He writes interesting melodies, he has great backing instrumentals...just listen to 14th Street with the use of the horns and banjo.
Plus live he's phenomenal...check him out on Youtube...he often sounds BETTER live than on record. Really a top performer. You will love him soon...all of you - mark my words! :) |
