LONG + BORING FEEDBACK:
one of the advantages of showcasing imagery is that it's much more immediate and in some cases accessible than sound or language (words) so i can see why you'd have something like this. my thought when looking at it is (and obviously just disregard this, because it's only what i'd do) that the navigation (as simple as it is) is still a wall between the artist (you) and everbody else (everybody else) so i'd like to have see nothing on the site other than the art itself, which as i say, is very immediate and to be confronted with it sans the bullshit the lingers between. it's sort like taking your work and saying 'this is more important than the medium from which you are accessing it' and forcing the person to acknowledge that your art isn't just a sub-section of what they're witnessing; it's the reason they're there. of course, the site in of itself (the frames, the links, the layout) is all part of the presetation, but i would probably ask myself if i feel like i'm using the medium to incorporate it into my art as well as using it for its practical purpose, or if the means in which the user accesses my art is in fact saturating the point.
i only say all that nonsense because my chosen artistic medium is sound, and sound is frustrating because it's difficult to deal with. you can't give somebody the template or the "bait" of your work within an quick to instantaneous period of time. visuals unravel to exactly the same depth as any other form, but they are inherently more immediate - and that's something i envy to an extent.
alternatively, have endless links that go around in circles! |

ha sadly not. this is my privacy fuck those people!
yeah i understand dan i'd quite liek to be a bit more adventurous but atm its purely an online portfolio for people to get a jist of things i do and to commission me commercial stuff. if i had a website like that i'd make it more anonymous and head fucking. |
