...of 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
This torrent:
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1439853/2722485/
Contains all 24 (I think) separate recorded tracks from Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' as they were recorded all those years ago. So basically you can take these, load them into your music editing software (I use Adobe Audition) as a multitrack session and play about to your heart's content...make a new mix...isolate individual elements..hear all the little bits that were hidden in the final mix etc etc. It's great fun!
Obviously somebody was naughty and sneaked this stuff out of the studio...I expect it was when they mixed this track into surround sound.
Hmmm....imagine what other music would be good to have in this format...*salivates*..... |

| It's a disgrace that all music isn't sold like this. |

I know. It's a truly beautiful thing.
I'm having so much fun with those tracks. I've been playing around doing my own mixes. One with the piano and lead vocals only...just lovely (quite a few alternate vocal tracks are included in the torrent BTW). One I tried to keep the instrumentation down to a minimum of one bass track, one guitar track and the drum tracks only with the lead vocal on top. And then one mix of all the available vocal tracks only. All interesting stuff.
Try isolating the track with Freddie's amazingly high note at the end of the "for me, for me, for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" line! :)
The way some of the tracks are combined is odd in places. You'll have a bit of lead guitar on a vocal track or a drum overdub on a backing vocal track maybe. It really is like a jigsaw puzzle.
So many possibilities...hours of fun and creativity to be had.
Now if only someone could sneak into Abbey Road and get hold of the Beatles multitracks.....hmmm..... |

Sounds intriguing.
I had a good idea for a mashup the other day but then forgot what it was. It was nothing to do with Bohemian Rhapsody though I know that. It would have been brilliant as well. |

There are some Nirvana multitracks here:
http://www.demonoid.com/files/details/1433844/3629980/
not downloaded those myself yet, I doubt they'll be as fun to muck about with as the Bohemian Rhapsody ones though.
And if you're into that kind of thing there are some Nine Inch Nails ones on Demonoid too if you search for them. :| |

Ohhh there's Beatles ones on there now!
Go to Demonoid and search for Beatles multitracks and you'll find
Sgt Pepper
She's leaving Home
A Day In The Life
There are only 4 separate tracks for each song because that's what The Beatles recorded them on. Quite amazing really. I find it fascinating to hear how these tracks were recorded. On Sgt Pepper for example the lead guitar and horn parts share the same track and the vocal track is a bit "messy" where they have punched in the different vocals. But it show just how inventive George Martin was. (McCartney's guitar part on it's own sounds just fucking amazing BTW).
The other thing that's fun is the "ahhhhh" bit after "and I went into a dream". I always thought it was Lennon that sang it but you can now tell it was McCartney and there are a lots of odd moaning and wailing sounds in the background as well on the vocal take!
Also the unused organ part on the orchestra track at the start of A Day In The Life....hard it before but good to be able to isolate it.
It's all good stuff..... :D |
