Saw Squeeze in Toronto on Thursday:
Supported by Aimee Mann (who was excellent):
Then on Friday we saw Classic Albums Live doing a Beatles marathon of four albums. They played The White Album, Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road and Let It Be plus some B-sides. A 4 hour set with no break. Superb.
Then on Saturday it was the Toronto Air Show over Lake Ontario:
Oh and my parents showed up on this side of the Atlantic without telling me they were coming! :) |

Yeah Squeeze were fabulous! Although the guitar really blasted my ears a bit because we were very close to Glenn (as you can see from the photos).
It was a surprise that my parents appeared. Mrs Chappo and I had arranged a few weeks ago to stay at my grandparents place in Toronto for a few days for the Squeeze concert. We drove up their after work the night before the show and arrived at their apartment at about 10pm. When we got there some of my Aunts and Uncles were there which I thought was a little odd at that time of night. Anyway we were putting our luggage down etc when there was a knock at the door....and my parents walked in!!!!! They had flown out there a few days before and everyone had kept it quiet. I had absolutley no clue they'd be there. It was fun! Especially as I hadn't seen them for over a year.

i think 19th december is going to be the best day ever for me
morning i plan to christmas shopping (which i perversely enjoy)
late afternoon i'm going ice skating at somerset house
then in the evening i'm seeing the pogues at brixton academy
fairytale 15 times over hopefully |

It's been ages since I saw The Pogues... around 1992 it was I think.
So is Madonna playing in London at the moment then?
I have another Toronto double-header coming up in October. The Wedding Present on Friday 3rd and then Liam Finn the next night at the same venue. |

actually i think she is/was because there was some miming controversy or some shit
but i what i meant is crystal castles were selling these:
and that art is the work of somebody else who they didn't credit or give any money to. although there's a bit more to it than that. |

Yeah Liam Finn seems like a really nice guy. I've spoken to him briefly. He's touring with Eliza J Barnes again who I must say I have a bit of crush on. |

I thought I hated her at first, but then I realised she was shit-hot! She's strange-looking, but I'd have a pop.
