i've been trying to go to more recently, but it usually falls through due to whatever. last night radiohead announced a gig at rough trade on brick lane and i saw the announcement but decided not to bother going down to get a wristband (it was free) because they're bound to be all gone now, it was like a 100 capacity (even though they had to move venues later) but then i heard that at the time i decided not to go there were literally only like 20 people queuing, then the NME reported it and it was swarming. really annoyed.

but anyway. might see art brut with some kind of brass or string orchestra soon...god knows what that actually is, but it sounds interesting.

and of course my bloody valentine in june. taking an eternity to get to june.

what about you, anything good lined up?

apart from my own gigs which kick off again in february, including a trip to paris to support dirty pretty things... i was thinking of going to see one of those art brut shows at ulu.. perhaps lightspeed champion this saturday because i really like his new album..although i probably won't make that and just get drunk elsewhere..err,,,i'm djing at a kooks gig in a weeks time so i'll get to yawn through that.. most likely go to some of these nme award shows too: the pigeon detectives, babyshambles, the horrors, hadouken.... would love to see eels at royal festival hall but wouldn't be able to afford it.. i went to the actual nme awards ceremony last year too (this years is coming up in a month) and it was fantastic.. saw kasabian, primal scream w/mick jones, jarvis duet with beth ditto, the view, etc... it was the best night out i had last year (even if i had to go home by midnight because i was so drunk = afternoon free bars do that to you)...

No gigs lined up for me for 2008 as of yet. Actually the prospects for this year don't seem all that good. I can't think of anyone I want to see who is touring or even rumoured to be touring this year. Even the gigs announced in Toronto so far this year are shite..and that's the closest most good bands get too us.

Maybe when we come over to the UK later in the year we will get to see someone half decent.

heehee...yeah I wonder.

I'd love to go and see Moz actually. He never really comes anywhere near us when he tours the US.

it's £35, and the thought of being crowded around hysterical morrissey fans isn't all that appealing. neither is morrissey getting a sweat on, he looks like toasted beef.

i think he's trying to do a prince, assuming he'll make nothing from his next album sales.

although prince is off his bonce. i knew he was harsh on anybody infringing his beloved copyright, but it seems he's actually got a team of cronies who patrol youtube, removing anything prince or prince related within minutes. it's for this reason sinead o connors nothing compares is never on there for more than ten minutes at a time.

someone really needs to sit him down and tell him how this internet business works.

Yeah, he's not whippit thin like he was when he was in The Smiffs anymore that's for sure.

I would actually like to see Mrs Chappo's reaction to the phenomenon of the massed hysterical Morrissey fans though.

I actually thought I'd got lucky because when we was in NYC in August there were "Morrissey at Madison Sq Garden" billboards up all over the place. Turns out the gig had been in June but they hadn't bothered to take the billboards down :( I was mildy gutted.

I met somebody from Toronto the other day, she interviewed me for some online mag she was doing. I thought you lived in the USA, RChappo, but isn't Toronto in Canada?

I might have just said something extremely stupid there.

I want to go to one of the Morrissey dates. I DO I DO I DO.

I do live in the USA Ronnie but we visit Toronto all the time because I have family there and it's the nearest "big city" to us. We live only 90 mins drive from the US/Canada border.

Doesn't look like i'll be seeing Mozzer any time soon :(

i started writing this post like an email and i dont really know why.

last month i saw m.i.a twice in a week and she was fantastic the second time, but i'm not planning to be that much of a crazy fan again. I'm hoping to get a ticket for hot chip, and for yeasayer in march, and hoping to see the cool kids on feb 15th!
