With great power comes great responsibility.
It's hammered into our minds that line. Anyone who saw the "with great power comes great consequence" line from the trailer of Jumper would have rolled their eyes.
My point is, it instills the idea that power and responsibility go hand in hand. Taking this to it's potential - who do we give the greatest amount of power to? God of course.
And yet who is the first person to relieve of responsibility for say, natural disasters, the death of innocents etc? God of course. He moves in mysterious ways is the counter claim.
I put it to you that the spiderman films, showing a character with power who is fated to do good with it, implies that god, a being of unparalleled power, does not exist, for where is the good being done with that. _________________ My music video (again) |
