OK.... some gigs coming up that I need advice on.

All are local and are bands that I "don't mind" but mainly have never seen before. I wouldn't travel any great distance to see them but as they're coming to near here then I'm considering going.

They're all on different days so I could go to them all but money is a bit tight and I might have to settle for just the one.

So which one is the one that I definitely SHOULD go to???

Here's the list:

BRITISH SEA POWER - Mrs Chappo likes the first album. I've not heard them much at all but I hear they put on a good live show. It's a 90min drive away in Buffalo.

MODEST MOUSE - Again, not heard much by them...but they have Johnny Marr playing with them now and it's in Rochester.

FOO FIGHTERS with SUPERGRASS supporting - Foo Fighters I can take or leave but I like Supergrass and have seen them before. Not heard anything from the last 2 or 3 albums though. Tickets also costs more than twice as much as the other two. Also in Rochester.

Advice??????

Yeah. I was already moving towards choosing British Sea Power. But have just realised that it is on Saturday and we have other arrangements (a family dinner party *yawn*). Bloody hell...disappointing.

:(

cat power last night

she's so pretty, but it wasn't good. horrible sound, didn't play any old songs, and even sober she's mental. she told everybody to dance then when people started to dance she had a go at them, which actually was pretty funny. she sang a song hiding behind the speakers, then ran down the aisle and out the fire exits. i have a feeling if you get her on a good day it would be amazing but that's hard to do and at £18.50 a ticket not really worth the gamble

fleet foxes and beach house tonight YYYYYYYYYYYAY

i haven't slept in wayyy too long. some point yesterday i had a lot of valium and i got home and just wanted to sleep forever but found out MBV are playing two warm up shows ahead of whatw as meant to be the first show which made me mad. and i'm gonna be in london for the scientology protest anyway so i'm going to the warmups so i'll be seeing them like 3 times in a week. it's so surreal.

but i had to stay up to get those tickets. and you know when you're so fucked and tired that you come out the otherside and stop feeling sleepy and start feeling really weird

that's now

i really do have to sleep

I saw that Cat Power on telly for the first time the other night (on Austin City Limits) and thought she looked like a bit of a mentaller.

everybody at the gig kept saying "it was good, she didn't even used to turn up!"

haha, how does that make it good? that's like me punching old ladies, stopping and then putting that on my CV.

joanna newsom next month, also.

I'm jealous of Joanna Newsom. Such an amazing voice. We're in the studio tomorrow (and yesterday).. I've got the fucking flu. Just my luck.

I didn't/won't go to ANY of the gigs mentioned in my original post btw.

Decided to save my pennies and go and see some bands that I know that I like ie Squeeze and The Wedding Present.
