Yep, they are bloody awful. You know in their new song? There's this sound the singer man makes at the end of the chorus that makes my skin crawl. Urghghgshudder.

Have you got the Harrison bootlegs 'The Making Of ATMP' and 'Beware of ABKCO' ???
If you like ATMP you'll love them. The first one is 3 CDs of outtakes/ early mixes which are a bit more stripped down from the final album, it's a bit repetative but worth a listen.

The second one is all acoustic demos of a lot of the ATMP tracks and some songs that didn't make the final album. It's pretty amazing stuff. Probably the best Harrison bootleg ever.

I haven't, sounds great. I'll check dime for it.

I've only just started liking the Chilis; i used to hate them big time. 'Charlie' is a shit-hot song, though. Cocaine-based songs are baaaad, but the chrous is pretty jizzwacka!

my vote = GUNS 'N ROSES.

Overrated tosh. Music for 14 year old boys or older men wth a mental age of 14. Over here in the USA they are considered rock gods of the highest order and always appear highly in those Top 50 lists concerning music. I never saw what was so great about them, they were average at best. If they weren't churning out sub Lynyrd Skynyrd rock tracks it was horrible vomit inducing power ballads. And they were oh so witty with the lead singers name being an anagram of Oral Sex too weren't they? (oh snigger snigger...excuse me while I go off and split my sides). Bloody juvenille psuedo macho sexually retarded fuckwits the lot of them. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had some kind of irony about them...but they didn't.

Sorry...I gotta disagree....GnR (as we fondly call them) rocked...period.

Pearl Jam. Just, why bother? It's unbelievably dreary, pointless grunge.

Also, I know you won't like this one but Gensis. I just don't get it, it makes me want to listen to just about anything else.

Wrong on 2 counts. Both.

Overrated?? How 'bout Oasis - pile o'shit.

And a bunch of other Brit pop/crap bands.

Yeah GnR are awful. I don't really understand the popularity of the Foo Fighters either. Obvious choices like Robbie Williams spring to mind as well. I guess its all about what the idiot public buy though.

I agree with you on Foo Fighters...terrible.

You can just fuck right off.

Bad Manners are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

I'm partial to a bit of the Chili's and the Foo's...but they are both slightly overrated.

I quite like Coldplay and Travis but they were/are both overrated.

Robbie of course is wildly overrated but I have to say that after the Soccer Aid event I have a bit of a grudging respect for the little shite.

To be honest I think a lot of bands these days are overrated. Most every British band that comes out these days is immediately compared to The Beatles. I even saw a headline on some news website that said "Brits vote Artic Monkeys better than the Beatles" - which is quite appalling and not at all helpful to the band themselves.

Bands don't get time to establish themselve anymore, they have to have a hit with their first record (ha..record!! how old do I sound?) or that's it.

I usually think that if a band is still good by their third album it might be worth going out and buying the rest of their material.
