Hopefully they'll start it up again. It's well worth sticking with.

Another silly little Beatles related thing that you might want to have a listen to is here (streaming audio - about an hour long) :

http://wkbwradio.com/page2.htm

Paul McCartney is alive and Well - Maybe . . .

50,000-watt WKBW (1520) in Buffalo, N.Y., orginally ran this on Halloween night, 1969, when the "Paul is Dead" theory was in vogue. They re-aired it on Halloween in 1972. They did the same with War Of The Worlds, repeating it a couple of years after the original.

The Voices on this broadcast are KB DJs Danny Neaverth, Sandy Beach, Stan Roberts and Program Director Jefferson Kaye. Neaverth, Roberts and Beach are long-time Buffalonians. Kaye did some voiceovers for NFL Films.

-----------
Obviously the whole premise of this radio show is bullshite, but it's really pretty fun to listen too. Particularly because it is from 1969. I just enjoy the overall serious tone of the show and some of the very very tenuous things they pick out as "death clues" (the 'Glass Onion' analysis is a classic!).
Those kerrazee yanks! Razz

I finally got this, it crawled there at about 2/kbps. I really enjoyed it, bit of a snag that I had to keep blasting the volume up to hear his nattering after the songs. It's not really a big deal, but it would literally take the bootleggers a few minutes to amp up the really quiet bits. I was a bit disappointed that he did that dodgy Wah-Wah thing, that would have sounded great acoustic. I don't suppose there's another known acoustic recording of Wah-Wah is there? But yeah generally, it was great to listen to.

Incidentally, I've finally got around to watching Rutland Weekend Television and saw Harrison desperate to crowbar some pirate sketch in. Lovely stuff. I burst out laughing when he shifted into the pirate song from My Sweet Lord, didn't see it coming at all.

Yeah the 'Wah Wah' on there is pretty messy but it's still good to hear how the songs evolved. I wish he'd developed some of the other demo tracks and put them on the album instead of those stupid jam tracks at the end. I don't know of an acoustic version of 'Wah Wah' I'm afraid, but I'll have a look through some of my bootlegs and see if I can find anything.

It is funny...probably the high point of Rutland Weekend Television which is pretty hit and miss overall.
