I'm working with a load of HIV+ blood serum samples today. I work with blood samples all the time so you kind of get a bit blase about it from day to day. But today is the first time I've KNOWN that the samples are HIV+. I'm usually quite careful and tidy and calm in my work but today I'm over compensating because of the threat of the aids and I'm acting like I'm the missing Chuckle brother. I just know at some point I'm going to spill or splash one of the samples and a bit is going to end up in my mouth or I'll cut my hand on something and it'll get in there. I'm a bit scared to eat anything even though I've washed my hands thoroughly in the anti microbial soap.

If I disappear from here you'll know what happened. Shocked

mark the samples as either good aids or bad aids before you send them off.

have you pulled any pranks yet like letting somebody know you're handling hiv blood and then later accidently inserting a needle into them and then see how they react?

If you do get it in your mouth or whatever, aren't there drugs that you can take within 48 hours that will detsroy it or something?

I am analyzing them to find out which contains the most aids, but to be honest if you were a patient it wouldn't be much of a consolation would it? "Yeah you've caught the aids but that bloke in the bed over there has more aids than you"

I haven't pulled any pranks yet but I was pondering taking a vial down to the cafeteria and emptying it into the chicken soup. (just joking!!! for all of those IT people who may be looking in!)

Ok. I shit you not...but I had to call in sick today. I was up all night coughing my guts up. I was hacking so much that it felt like I was being stabbed in the chest. When the alarm went off this morning at 6.30am I'd had about 30 minutes of sleep. Got a stuffy nose and all that too. It's probably just a cold right? Right?!!! Somebody please tell me it's just a cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked

that must be amazingly strong aids if it destroyed your immune system in th e space of hours. imagine how much of a pozzer the donator must've been.

I can't go to the doctors now because we have no medical insurance. Anyway I'm feeling a lot better today. I expect the aids has gone dormant for the time being.

Yeah I really don't understand how the medical system really works in America. Do people really just miss out on needed medical attention because they don't have a job that supplies medical insurance? That seems ridiculously impractical and unfair.

Not that our system is perfect, but at least you don't have to worry about getting treatment for anything.
