Yeah watching England is not easy. I'll admit that. They are so frustrating to watch. But I do think people need to put things into perspective. We seem to all be in awe of the other teams when in reality they really aren't any better than us in terms of results (in this world cup at least) They just seem better than us because they have fancy foreign names. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. Yeah, you have to take into account that England are naturally going to be scruitinised over every little move.
re: Lennon, even though the chances of Sven starting with him instead of Beckham are slim to none, he's a cracking backup player who to be honest should been brought on and given more time to play. He played, what, five minutes? He was one of our best players today, it's ridiculous. It's just the constant long balls and lack of communication that gets a bit tiresome. But as chappo says, no team has been perfect so far.
I hope we get to play and beat Portugal, I want to see Ronaldo cry. |

Haha, 30 minutes in and C.Ronaldo has gone off injured. He is crying on the bench. I can't stand him. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

England v Portugal
So what does everyone think then?
I must say that I wasn't all that confident until about Tuesday of this week, then for some reason I started thinking that we'll beat 'em.
It might have been something to do with Gary Neville and Sven's recent press conferences where a fair amount of "fire in the belly" has been shown. (Incidentally Gary Neville has gone up a lot in my estimation recently)
I reckon we'll see England finally click tomorrow. I think the 6 day rest will have done them the world of good and that Rooney will start to make more of an impact. The passing to him will be more measured ...let's face it is HAS to be.
Maybe we'll see young Theo in action late on too if need be.
Can't help but be optimistic. I may look a fool tomorrow night but who cares. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

Gary Neville is and always will be a stupid tit with the furry moustache of a 13 year old.
I've got a good feeling as well for some odd reason. This is our first real tough match (Sweden didn't mean anything) and if we can't raise our game here we might as well just fuck off home anyway. Theres a bit of history and I'm sure a few of our team will be looking for some revenge even if they don't state it publicly. With Deco and Costinha suspended, Ronaldo possibly injured or at least unfit and 6 or 7 players on yellows, Portugal are definately not in the best shape for us. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

Ronaldo is a cunt, no doubt. Trying to get his Rooney sent off when they've played together at Man Utd for 2 years is pathetic but then again I expect nothing less of Ronaldo. I hope Man Utd get rid of him, or Rooney at least chins him in training.
I assume Rooney will be hounded by the media for yet again acting like a petulant teenager and destroying our chances. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

C. Ronaldo = TWAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And let the record state that I've ALWAYS thought that he was a TWAT.
Fuck me. Talk about rub your nose in it...that little grinning greasy rapist twat has to be the one to score the winning penalty.
He's going to get so much shit when he plays in the Premiership next year. Better move on son.
Still, that is what England do isn't it. Play heroically against the odds and then go out. I suppose most of the press that have written England off in the past 3 weeks will be well chuffed with that. I'm gutted. :x _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!"

As I've said many a time, he really is slimey little twat. It's that wink to the bench that really fucked me off, the "job done, lads" nonsense. The fact is, Portugal were utter cack and France or Brazil are gonna destroy them (or so I'd suspect) so I expect we'll get to see Ronaldo crying some more greasy tears.
England probably did deserve the win but that's not saying much, considering the standard of Portugal. Hargreaves and Lennon were both excellent but apparently plan B, whatever the fuck that was, wasn't good enough. Lampard was utter shit, not just in this game but throughout - I knew he was gonna miss that penalty.
The actual game aside, there were some classic moments from the BBC pundits. Before the game Gervais and Merchant and a midget did a sketch about Rooney and Crouch (you can work it out from that), cut back to the studio, everyone's laughing and Ian Wright says "I just love little guys like that, there's something so funny about 'em!" everyone looks stunned, Lineker hastily moves on.
Then after the match, Shearer was getting really annoyed at the replay of Ronaldo's wink and he said "I'll tell you what, when he goes back to Old Trafford, I'd expect Rooney will put one on him" again, stunned silence. |

Yep. I suppose in the main I've got no complaints. England have done what they always do. We don't win stuff and we always go out the same way. But I still love us.
I would just hate to see C. Ronaldo get anywhere near the World Cup final. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

Oh Bollocks.
Now on 6-0-6 you've got people saying that England played well today despite of Sven. So even though they lost they played well despite Sven? So if they'd have won would that have been despite Sven? And the games they played poorly in and won were also despite Sven were they? I'm not some kind of Sven lover but come on for fucks sake make your minds up. No wonder we don't breed winners in England. It pisses me off no end. Even when we win we lose it seems. And then when we lose everyone says "I told you so".
It is what it is...we lost and we're out, Sven has gone.

| I reckon they're going to draft Scolari in for Euro 2008. Mclaren doesn't look very confident and Phil has said that if England ask him again, he'll probably say yeah. |
