It's all over.

Not a vintage World Cup when it comes down to it but it was a lot of fun.

After the final yesterday the TV over here showed a montage of clips from the tornament set to 'One' by U2. Me and Mrs Chappo sat and watched it in silence and a few moments afterwards she said "Well that's it for another 4 years". Bloody hell that seems like a long time. The World Cup has taken up so much of our time over the last month that we've planned our whole life around it. Now I've got no more excuses to leave work early or to not show up for various boring family get togethers :(

Personally the thing I'll miss most of all are the Baddiel and Skinner podcasts, they were excellent.

Might have to try and get to South Africa for 2010 or at least Switzerland/Austria for Euro 2008...providing England make it to both of them. Confused

Switzlerland 2008! I didn't even know about that. I didn't think they were that big on football or sport in general.

What, are you a proper football fan? I just sort of assumed you were only watching the world cup. And you're american. What leagues do you follow?

I much prefer domestic football to international, but fortunately there are no injured Gooners, so I let it slide this year.

Lovely stuff. I've got a new found respect for you now, Nads. Favourite team, player, etc? If you say Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool or Tottenham I'll probably never speak to you again.

Urrrgh! Fortunately I don't hate Liverpool quite as much as Chelsea and Man Utd. Plus they have the Crouch, which makes them difficult to take seriously.

I'm disappointed though, if I'm honest. Gerrard? He runs like a tit! And he did fuck all for us this world cup.

The good thing about the World Cup is that its broken up that boring 3 months period between seasons. Now we'll just have a month of the most ridiculous transfer rumours the media can possibly think up.

Gerrard is immense for Liverpool, but him and Lampard in England's midfield just does not work. If Gerrard ever left Liverpool, you'd be in the shit.

God bless that man. :(

oh and i'm not a crazy rabid liverpool fan. i love the game on the whole and don't worry so much about "omg have to support them fuck all the rest", i have a lot of respect for anyone that plays beautifully.

that being said...
all of everton can go to hell.
