Bloody hell.

I've been working in a lab for the past couple of weeks that has a radio that can only get good reception on one radio station.
Unfortunately that radio station is Warm 101.3 which is a "Soft Rock" station.

It's finally wearing me down. A constant stream of shite from Huey Lewis & The News, Chicago, James Blunt, The Dave Mathews Band (who???) and other assorted wimpy buggers.

Of course 'Hotel California' is played at least 16 times during the course of one 8 hour shift.

I bloody hate Soft Rock Evil or Very Mad

When that irritating James Blunt song came on I mentioned to my co worker the fact that he was more commonly known as "James Cunt" in the UK and he just said "You Brits always hate people that are successful", which is generally true, but I'd counter that with the argument that the majority of Americans like shitty safe soft rock style music and that most UK acts that are huge over here tend to be of the "bland" mode (Coldplay for instance). Then he said about Mr Blunt "he's better than Oasis were"...which is quite laughable really.

I think they are just sore that they got spanked in the WC yesterday! :)

Is it digital? You might be able to find Resonance FM, and due to the time difference you could get some early morning Resonance sonic art shows, that'll mix it up!

I bloody love Resonance, listening to it at night is like being on another planet.

I dealt with the Soft Rock thing in the end by unplugging the radio and stowing it away in a lab storage cupboard. I pretended I needed the bench space to set up a centrifuge. No one seemed to notice it had been turned off and so the afternoon was spent in glorious silence (apart from the faint whirl of said centrifuge). Nice! Cool
