I love The Jam now. I grew up for 19 years with my dad listening to them and never paid any attention, but now I can't get enough of them. He's seen them loads of times, and been to hundreds of Jam tribute acts too. I bet you were a mod weren't ya, Chappo. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

LOL!
I'm not old enough to be an original mod but when I was at school there was a bit of a mod revival...to be honest I was a bit scared of them. I always like The jam and The Ooo though. I was more of a multidenominal music fan. I never really nailed my colours to one particular musical mast. As a result I suppse I was a bit boring I and mainly ingnored by most folks. The only real time I was ever vaguely trendy was when Britpop rolled around and I could pass myself off as a kind of fusion between Noel and Liam (or "Niam" if you like). I was even once offered a place in an Oasis tribute band but I declined (too busy with my studies). I did have a fleeting shot at fame when the band I was in supported a Jam Tribute band at Notts County football ground. I might write a book about it one day.
(oh and I did shag one of those out of Bananarama once) _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

My Mum is visting us at the moment and brought over the usual rations of chocolate, biscuits and other goodies.
Got a few DVDs - Fry & Laurie, Alexei Sayle - all good stuff.
She also bought me The Feeling album - and now I've got that song "I Want You Now' stuck in my head...all the bloody time....how catchy is that song? It's like the Ebola virus is how catchy it is!!
I knew nothing about them until she bought the CD over so they are probably already old news, passe and hated in the UK but from what I'm hearing it's pretty poptastic stuff.
bless me mum!
