I've been playing this on my bro's 360 for the past few days and it's amazingly fun. You get this plastic guitar with the game that you use as the controller.
I've never been attracted to these sorts of games really, I just thought if you're gonna go to that extreme to replicate playing an instrument you might as well learn the real fucking thing, but it's great really. I just about managed to complete it on easy mode and my brother clocked it on extreme without breaking a sweat. He does play the guitar though so I think that definitely helps.
I got 100% on the Foo Fighter's 'Monkey Wrench' - It's my specialty.
This isn't me playing, just an example. (I look way cooler when I play, natch)

I recommend you give it a go if you get the chance, it's fun with a ph. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

| I might sound like a snob here, but I always thought that game was for people who wanted to play the guitar but couldn't be bothered actually learning how. Like the kind of person who buys a guitar purely to learn a Metallica riff and then never plays it again. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's great fun, but it seems like wasted effort when you could be learning the real thing. |

That's basically what it is really. I've never had an interest in learning guitar but playing this makes me want to learn, and I have a new respect for people that play for hours on end. I have to sit down between songs and my fingers cramp up within minutes. Rock & roll baby. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

| Computer games have given me more hand cramps than my guitar ever has. After playing Pokemon Stadium mini-games for about four hours straight my hand was basically paralysed and I was unable to grip anything for hours. |

Did you ever see that old documentary (from the mid 1970's) about heavy metal music? They interview these two lads who just go around with bits of plywood made into the shape of a guitar and visit all these metal clubs and just air guitar to all the songs. One lad justifies it by saying that "to be profficient on the guitar you've got to really study for about 5 years..and I'm 27 now so I haven't got the time to devote to it". But he's happy as a 27 year old to go out and make a twat of himself in a club full of metal fans on a weekly basis...hmmm...
That just reminded me of that! Not that I'm saying your a twat for playing that game...I'm sure it is fun..it looks it!
Anyway, I digress. I'm a bit of an inverted snob as well when it come to this really. There is a lot of bollocks spoken about the guitar and a lot of wankers at school and elsewhere that make it sound a lot more mysterious than it really is. You don't need to pick one up and start playing at 150 mph and do all the Van Halen solos to be any good. I used to hate the fuckers at school who used to show up with their guitars slung over their shoulders (usually without a case too..so it was fun when it rained!) like a fashion statement. They all formed metal bands and thought they were the shit. I would like to put money down and bet that not one of them is still playing anymore. And I can't be doing with people always banging on about brands of strings, pickups and what have you and doing finger exercises...it bores the life out of me.
But I love to play and I have been doing so for 20 years now..and I think I am pretty good at it actually (I can sing a bit too as well). So I would encourage anyone to pick one up and have a bash and enjoy it but try not to get discouraged or bogged down when folks keep banging on about technique and having competitions about how fast they can play....you can get as much pleasure from strumming a few chords and singing along.
Time I went to bed anyway..... _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

me and my friend in about yr 7 wanted to learn the clarinet, but when we got to the music faculty building, they only had one left, so i let him have it, and i went and played football at lunch instead. Sort of wish i hadnt let him now, just to see where id be now.
and thats all i have to say about that. _________________ When the weather outside is frightful,

I used to play the recorder. My rendition of Little Caterpillar blew the audience away at our year 2 end of term assembly. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

Eight or Nine I think, it was a year or two after I shat my spiderman Y-Fronts at a service station. My childhood fell apart soon after. _________________ Carlton Palmer doing his impression of a man with brain damage |

LOL. We've all been there....
I shat myself at Porthmaddog Pottery once when I was on a Cub Scout trip. I think I might have mentioned this on here once before actually. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |
