Number one: a computer repair person. Okay, I'm just not. I spent 4 years studying computers and people assume that must have been because I love them and I want to fuck them. Alright, I don't. Stop asking me to fix your fucking stuff.

Are we actually going to list things I'm not? That's gonna be a long thread.

It's my actual family that are doing this. My mum got into a panic last night and needed me set up a network in about an hour. It took me six weeks at college, she's got no chance. But there was a row. Then my sister's come over and dumped her laptop on me and just aske dme to fix it. She's been downloading shit loads of spyware/adware etc that's fucking it. Why should I fix this stuff?

i just had to show my aunt how to make new internet explorer pages open in a full window and she was actually amazed i fixed it and offered me £10, which i naturally accepted. i like the idea that relatives assume you're some sort of computer boffin just because you sit on the internet all day, it makes you feel like you actually possess some sort of worthwhile skill.

hahaha my parents call me while i'm away at uni if they're having pc issues, my brother's sitting in the same house as them why can't they bother him!

it's because he's useless

if they paid me on the other hand 20 bucks a pop i wouldn't complain

Haha, she offered you £10 and you took it?! It really is no wonder people go into the PC repair business, people who don't know what they're doing, especially rich people, will pay through their nose for even the most basic stuff. My sister said she had to get me to fix it because the software (the spyware) was asking for £40 to fix it and she said "I wanted to see if you could fix it before I paid that" she was ACTUALLY going to pay one of these spyware thingies. Christ.

The problem is, if you set up a business you can't just say "idiots only plz" because then it's obvious you're out to rip people off, you have to risk calls from blokes called Dave about PHP script.

pc repair people do charge what seems to be fucking ridiculous hourly prices for their services but there must be a demand because there are enough of them. surely the best repair method is to type the issue into google and find a response there. works for me, anyway

i just got quite taken aback by hearing a deerhoof song on an advert on english telly.i wish i had noticed what it was advertising
