The worst covers ever?

I've got Sleeper's cover of Atomic on. It's so pointless! It's not doing anything different from the original except not including the synth bits and Louise can't even nearly hit the notes Debbie does.

Also, Belle & Sebastian's cover of The Boy With The Thorn In His Side is so bad. It sounds like somebody detuned all their instruments and punched them in the neck.

Yeah that Atomic cover is poor. I like Sleeper but I hate it when Louise purposely makes her voice break mid word ie : "Tooo - ni - hi- ght".

hmmm let me think of more poor cover versions.....

There's the Elvis/Roy Orbison versions of You Were Always on My Mind, almost identical.

Do you mean rubbish covers where they're exactly the same as the original, or just rubbish covers?

The Living End do this version of Tainted Cell, just a bad idea.

I don't really like any of the cover versions that Oasis have done.

The worst has to be their version of Helter Skelter....just turns it into a very boring song.

I do quite like the I Am The Walrus cover though.

i heard a cover of 'stop me if you think you've heard this one before' playing over the tannoy in marks and spencers earlier, which wasn't very good.

Haha, that's that Ronson something bloke. Yeah, it's really shit. The production on it is just awful, it sounds like he's tried to fuse too many ideas together and it just hasn't worked out.

I think he did a Just cover as well, that was better produced but still pretty boring.

I think Mark Ronson is pretty good. I know what you mean about having too many ideas, though.

Oasis, or rather Noel, did a cracking cover of The Jam's "To Be Someone." I think I prefer it to the original, all right?

How about Hot Club de Paris' cover of Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al"?

Classic cover.
