Wow...it's refreshing to go away for like a year or so and come back and see all the old gang still on here! In the words of the immortal Mr. Hankey..."Hiiiiiiiiiideeeeeee Hooooooooooo" kids!
Well I'm going to see The Police on the 28th...I shall report back soon to let you know if they still have it in them...(of course I have nothing to compare it to, I was a bit too young to have seen them in their prime, but I digress)....
Also I got tickets to GENESIS in September...CHAPPO?? You going????
Peace out! HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Welcome back Delphi! We thought we'd never see your likes again!
I've passed on The Police and Genesis tours this time due to financial constraints (we bought a house!). Was hoping that Gabriel would be on the Genesis tour but no. I hear that it is still a possibility that he will tour with them in the near future though! Would have seen the Police but thought the prices were a bit steep to be honest. Would like to see them though so will be awiting your concert report(s).
Don't be a stranger! :) _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

Hey Congrats on the house! I got a new job so I'm rolling in it...blowing cash left and right baby!!! No seriously...I did start a new one so I've been busy...finances are good so I'm living it up a little. :) Are you still in upstate NY? Enjoying this weather? It's been a much nicer summer than last year no?
Yeah so my bro saw The Police like Friday before last out in Chi-town and he said they were pretty good...he said Copeland rocked and Summers got to do a lot of funky solos. I figured I'd spend the money on them, hell, it's The Police right? I mean what other band can you listen to all their albums and say they are all great? He said Sting had to take a few songs down to the lower registers here and there, but overall he sounded pretty good. Of course they're nothing like they were in their hey-day I'm sure...
Genesis should be interesting. I just saw them on VH1 performing and they actually sounded not-too-good....Phil has that damn reverb going and he sounded like he was holding back a lot...which kinda sucked. I'm not expecting anything amazing...but you know, I had to buy those tickets, it'd be a mortal sin if I hadn't. :) _________________ Android thus disabled... |

Yeah that's great. I'm (hopefully) getting a new job in September with my old boss. Will be more money, benefits and a proper contract! YAY!
I've heard good things about The Police tour. So it should be great. I'm not really into Stings jazz leanings so I hope they are to a minimum. I'm sure they will bring out a DVD of the tour at the end so I'll pick that up.
I like Phil Collins and I hate it when people slag him off for no reason. I saw Genesis in 1992 and I'd see them again if they were coming anywhere near here. But the nearest is Toronto and it's a trip too far for us this year really!
BTW If anyone can watch both Phil Collin's performances of "Against All Odds" at Live Aid and then still slag him off then they're lying!
My big treat this year is seeing the reformed Crowded House in Toronto in a August. One of my favourite bands ever and I get to see them with my wife and my Mum and my Brother YAY! (only a month until my family visit here!!) _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

Crowded House are back together? Holy cow...I had no idea! That should be a blast, and August is right around the corner! :)
Yeah and Phil at Live Aid was awesome...that's the one where he soloed on the piano right? I think I favorited that on my youtube account. _________________ Android thus disabled... |

Right. He played both the London and Philadelphia gigs via Concorde. Good stuff!

Chappo!! Did you get that new job? 'Tis almost ROCKTOBER already!!!
Genesis, surprisingly, sounded awesome! Phil's voice held up well, and they played a lot more older stuff than when I saw them in '92...they played all of Ripples, and Carpet Crawlers, and they opened with Behind the Lines. It was really sweet. And of course Phil and Chester had an amazing drum solo...they also played Los Endos, and Guide Vocal, all of The Cage, the keyboard solo from Firth of Fifth and Cinema Show....of course they played I Know What I Like, Mama (which I thought would suck but Phil actually sounded really good), Invisible Touch (where Phil even sang "and though she will fuck up your life...you want her just the same!) shock: .....ummm....Dukes Travels and Dukes End....Follow You Follow Me...Home By The Sea...etc...you get the drill...the usual set pretty much but with some other stuff thrown in...they played for like 2 hours 45 minutes...almost 3 hours non-stop...so it was well worth it. And I finally got to wear my GENESIS shirt with all their album covers on it with pride!! LOL! I even got a few compliments on it from fellow fans!
And The Police rocked too. Saw them at Fenway, with a full moon out...awesome show. Copeland was beyond good on those drums...that man is a God! _________________ Android thus disabled... |

Not yet....but it's all still "in the works". It's being held up in red tape. I've been told mid-November!

Ahhh...nice...I love that song.
Sounds like a decent set list actually. I'll definitely download one of the shows from the tour and give it a listen. Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah he's the bollocks behind the traps!
Very nice. I didn't realise they played at Fenway Park. I thought it would be the Fleetcenter (if that's what it's still called).
Yeah been a pretty quiet year for me on the concert front...and I've got nothing lined up yet for the rest of the year. I missed Elvis Costello in Buffalo a few weeks ago due to me dithering about spending the money and then it selling out. I have a long history of missing Mr McManus when he tours. He's playing here in Rochester next week but it's supporting Bob Dylan and he's just doing a solo acoustic set. Not sure whether I want to shell out 55 bucks for that. I don't mind Bob Dylan but I've really no interest it seeing him live. Add to that Mrs Chappo's ticket and Ticketmaster's extra charges and it would be around $130. Hmmmmm.
Crowded House were great though! The new album really grows on you. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |

Saw the old Genesis tribute band again on Friday night (The Waiting Room) - great show - and free to get in as well!

Yeah and Chappo you're lucky...they never come to Boston. And free to eh? That would be awesome to see....I heard some rumor that Gabriel might rejoin Genesis for a Lamb tour in '08? Think it would ever happen??? _________________ Android thus disabled... |

I heard the same rumour. I don't see any reason why it couldn't happen. Would definitely go and see that one. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |
