Well, the water's is back, which is the main thing. But I went out and bought a four pack of bottled water and fill my plastic crate with in order to have a miniature-bath. Luckily, the plumbing got sorted because I've just realised I bought sparkling water. I was all set for a fizzy bath.
I'm kind of disappointed actually. |

If you put fizzy water in a kettle and start to boil it, will it make the kettle explode?
Why does no one else think this is an amazing thought? The world is full of boring people. _________________ My music video (again) |

Why is shopping so hard? I always end up with the same food because it's just impossible to think beyond "sandwiches...pasties..chocolate" when I'm stood in the shop. And there's so much food, I don't even know where to start. My shopping skills have improved, though, my first attempt at a proper shop and I came back with a large quantity of bird seeds.
Today I have also learnt a new lesson: do not shop while you are hungry.
This is a fatal mistake. I've bought way too much stuff. Six pack of savoury eggs anyone? |

Did my trips to the 24 hour Spa over these past 3 years have absolutely no effect on you whatsoever? To be fair, i don't think you'll sink quite as low as buying grated cheese in a bag, but still. _________________ When the weather outside is frightful,

Right. The shopping on an empty stomach thing is a well known phenomenon. Shopping is one of those life skills that I only really encountered after I got married. But I still find it confusing. I'm one of those people who will always go for the cheapest of anything in the supermarket. So I will always go for the "supermarket own brand" version of anything...whether that's canned vegetables or soap or whatever. My missus doesn't always like what I end up with so I get reprimanded if I shop alone. I'm also one for checking the weight / cost of a pack of everything to make sure I get the best value...so I'll be doing maths in my head and saying stuff like "but there are 2oz more in this box for the same price!!" and then I turn around and Mrs Chappo has already put the lower value one in the trolley and buggered off down the aisle.
If I'm shopping with Mrs Chappo I always make sure I avoid seeing the grand total price at the checkout when she pays (I even hum a little tune sometimes to drown out the sound of the checkout staff announcing the total !!!)...therefore I can live in happy ignorance of how much of our hard earned money we are spending to keep ourselves alive. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. Bloody hell, today was a nightmare.
We had this guest speaker who was simply introduced as "a very controversial individual with provocative views" on this course that really can mean anything from 'raping family pets is a bloody big laugh' to 'please hold my anus open as I stuff it with photographs from WW2'. Sadly, he said nothing quite so disgusting, but he did make some really frustratingly boring points that just weren't worth addressing. He was from the music department (who, unbeknown to me, have something of a friendly fued with the sonic arts dept) and he went on and on about why our degree is a complete waste of time because music in general is better, and topping it off with "high art is something you can only enjoy after education" and "subjectivity only goes so far" (paraphrasing). I just switched off at that point, he was just another one of these people who have to pretend art holds definable objectivities in order to justify the stench of intellectualism that supports his preferences.
So, I was thinking "do I just stand up and walk out?" I was even thinking of just writing something laughably dramatic on the whiteboard and storming out, but then just as I was thinking I'd get up and leave, he said that we were all welcome to use the music department for free. In other words, we can go over there, use the studios, the instruments and even the staff/students to play and record things for us. I piped down as the realisation that my orchestral concept album about Nexus might be a nearer reality than I had previously anticipated.
And now it seems like the hot water is off again.
UPDATE OVER. |
