Well I went yesterday and it was shit. Shit festival.. I saw three acts, because I just felt like an animal in a zoo. Kanye West just seemed to ask his DJ to play lots of other peoples songs (mainly Jay-Z and Amy Winehouse) and then he'd just shout YO! PUT YA HANDS UP! on top of it. It was actually quite entertaining. Babyshambles had absolutely the worst sound I've ever heard from a PA EVER. Sabbotage?.. it looked like it... like the sound men were going out of their way to make them sound bad. Finally, I braved a Holloways set.. I'm not a fan but I think I was won over when they namechecked me on stage.. "Don't be shy, Ronnie!" as I drunkenly attempted to crowdsurf. The most amusing part of the festival was the Barcadi tent where it was packed like sardines in a tin full of people clubbing.... now if I wanted to dance to terrible dance music would I pay £150+ plus £4 a beer or even more for drinks in a really cramped environment when you could just go down to your local nightclub and do the same and save a few bucks? Beats me but whatever... I just don't approve of places that are so obviously over-subscribed, which is exactly what was the problem with V last night - unless you were in the Louder Lounge which provided you with free cocktails, a free dinner buffett and inflatable chairs with Guilty Pleasures DJing and palm trees and whatnot...

What I've heard recently from Kanye West is laughably lazy. First it's that Curtis Mayfield sample and then Daft Punk, but there's not much beyond the sample apart from him shouting.

Saw him in NYC last year and he was fantastic.. Pharrell Williams did two numbers with him... I think using Daft Punk sample is very lazy... very lazy... but he's a cool cat. What was up with the V coverage on Channel 4? It made the festival look even more middle of the road...

Yeah it looked really boring and all the reviews said it was a bit worthless too.
I went to a day festival last week in Mile End called Field Day and had a lovely time because I wasnt drinking, and therefore didnt need to pee, but everyone else was queueing 2 hours for a beer then 1 hour for a portaloo, so there were lots of unhappy bunnies around. The only had 2 beer tents and 1 wine tent (which sold out) for ten thousand people, how silly.

Did you enjoy the 1-2-3-4 festival?.. That was rediculous too... they were only expecting 500 people and they got 1500... maybe even more, they're not sure. They were so understaffed and didn't have enough booze or toliets to go round either.

i didn't bother to watch him. my highlights were selfish cunt and twisted charm. oh, and our set was fun too, i'm glad we got to play before it got too hot. did billy show up in the end?

oh yeah, i remember a funny thing from v festival. constantly seeing jack tweedy (from cbb) walking around on his own looking really upset. now i just found out he's been dumped by jade goody. ahahaha

i honestly spent 5 hours walking around shoreditch/hackney/bethnal green on my own trying to find the place, and after walking through some absolute shitholes, drenched in a coat of sweat, i decided to go home. i don't really know how i failed to find it because ellen reckons it was right near the station, but loads of kids asked me where it was too, and i saw no signs or anything. it was insanely hot though, i'm not sure i could've sat in a field for an entire afternoon.
