The same for me too. I'm at the point where I'm kind of giving up on any new music. I can only really think of 3 new albums I bought in 2007 and those were by McCartney, Wilco and Crowded House, so already established artists. I just don't get excited by music much these days. All new music is hyped too much and it never lives up to it. I'm so far out of touch with UK music now too. There are UK bands that I've never heard who have released a couple of albums and split up since I left. And it seems like every week there is a different "Band Of The Decade" or "Album Of The Year" and then they're forgotten in a few months.
I think I probably wrote exactly the same thing in the forum this time last year actually. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!"

Album - Rufus Wainwright - Release the Stars
Song - that's a tall order...maybe - I dunno - "Going to a Town?"

Yeah there is a great divide with Rufus - you either love him or hate him. _________________ Android thus disabled... |

I like 'Going To A Town' a lot, although he nearly blows the song towards the end when he gets dangerously close to "show tune" territory. The album is growing on me too. _________________ "For all his horses, knighthoods and championships, he hasn't got two of what I've got. And I don't mean balls!" |
