Wowzers...that is a bit scary. Once when I was your age...I think I was 20 - had to have a tumor removed (long story), so I was in the hospital for 3 days. Surgery went fine...BUT...they put me on this drug which I was apparently allergic to...started having what are termed "dystonic" reactions....basically means your body starts to have like seizures on you...of course my mind was fine, but I had no control over my body and my tongue kept rolling back in my mouth, teeth grinding, stomach muscles clenching up (where I was stiched up - so it was pretty painful) - all for 3 HOURS - it took them 3 hours to figure out what was wrong. They gave me shots of vallium, didn't work - nothing worked, until finally they went through my chart again and realized I was allergic to this drug (which they later told me was an "extremely rare" reaction) - so anyway, they finally gave me benadryl and I was right as rain in a few minutes. :)
But what I remember most was lying there, in pain, with zero control over my muscles and being scared sh*tless...while listening to the nurses chit chat out in the hall and doctors ambling about...people laughing outside my room, etc...it gave me a new appreciation for anyone who has Parkinsons or anything like that. I just commend anyone who has to go through life like that. There are a lot of very strong individuals out there!!!
